Roasted Chana Dal Salad

Roasted Chana Dal Salad is an easy and quick snack prepared using roasted gram dal and onion and flavoured with cumin seeds.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup roasted chana dal
  • 1/4 heaped cup shallots / red onion finely chopped
  • 1 green chili finely chopped
  • 1 sprig curryleaves finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp gingelly oil

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, add roasted chana dal.
  • Furthermore, add finely chopped shallots, green chili, and curryleaves. Make sure all are fresh.
  • Add cumin seeds, salt and gingelly oil.
  • Mix well and adjust the seasoning.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

  1. To maintain the freshness for a longer period, prepare and mix all the ingredients except roasted chana dal. Mix it with roasted chana dal at the time of serving.
  2. Do not compromise on fresh ingredients for the best results.
  3. You can use both whole roasted chana dal or split one. but do not use the roasted chana dal with skin.
